Sandra Newell was the only candidate for mayor, appearing on the Democratic ticket. There were no write-in candidates with 10 votes.
The race for council saw the addition of a Republican candidate thanks to the write-in process, giving the borough residents the choice of four candidates in November for the three open seats. William Coughenour and Patricia A. Lint will appear on the ballot as Democrats while John Pyda and write-in candidate Thomas Swingle will appear as Republicans. In the Primary Coughenour and Lint received 19 votes each, while Pyda received 13 votes and Swingle got 12.
Corrine McKnight, a Democrat, was the only candidate for tax collector.
