Official Notice of Election for Military and Overseas Voters

2018 General Election (November 6, 2018)
This is an official notice of a General Election to be conducted on 11/6/2018 in Fayette County. You may
register to vote and request an official absentee ballot by using the Federal Postcard Application (FPCA),
available at http://www.votespa.com or http://www.fvap.gov. You may apply for an absentee ballot by submitting
your FPCA by fax to (724) 430 – 4948, or by email to ckarol@fayettepa.org or bguthrie@fayettepa.org.
You may request an absentee ballot from this office at any time prior to a primary or election. However,
if time does not permit you to receive and return an official absentee ballot, you are also entitled to vote
using the Federal Write-in Absentee Ballot (FWAB). Military electors may also use the FWAB to register
to vote and vote simultaneously.
You may use the FWAB to vote for a candidate for U.S. Senate and U.S. Representative (Representative
in Congress) as well as candidates for all state and local offices, and ballot initiatives.
To vote, refer to page 3 of the FWAB.
To vote for U.S. Senate and U.S. Representative (Representative in Congress), write in the name of the
candidate of your choice in the space provided on the FWAB.
To vote for state and local offices or for ballot initiatives, write the names of candidates or ballot
initiatives in the Addendum section of the FWAB. Under the Office/Ballot Initiative heading, enter the
office the candidate is running for or the title of the Ballot Initiative (referendum). Under the Candidate
Name, Party Affiliation or Initiative Vote heading, list the name of the candidate you wish to vote for,
or if you are voting on a Referendum questions write “yes” or “no.”

Masontown Borough Chanel Bank Rehab Project Bid Notice

NOTICE TO BIDDERS Masontown Borough will receive sealed bids from Contractors for the 2018 Channel Bank Rehabilitation Project until 1:00 P.M. prevailing time, at the Borough Office, 1 East Church Avenue, Masontown, Pennsylvania 15461 on Friday, September 28, 2018. The rehabilitation for the channels are at two separate locations and appurtenant items of construction within the Borough of Masontown. Copies of the plans and specification for may be purchased for One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) per set, nonrefundable, from Sleighter Engineering, Inc., 1060 Eberly Way, Lemont Furnace, Pennsylvania, 15456, Phone 724-438-4010. A certified check payable to Masontown Borough or a bid bond on the bid form executed by the Bidder and an acceptable Surety company, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid amount, shall be submitted with each bid to guarantee the Bidders entrance into a contract if given the award. No bid bond shall be waived or returned because the Bidder has failed to or cannot comply with any requirements as set forth in the plans, specifications, or any applicable statutes of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. No bid may be withdrawn for Sixty (60) calendar days after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids. This is a Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Rate Project The Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. TOWNSHIP OF GERMAN ENACTMENT NOTICE UNDER LOCAL GOVERNMENT UNIT DEBT ACT Notice is hereby given that at a meeting held on September 11, 2018, the Board of Supervisors of the Township of German enacted an ordinance titled and summarized as follows: AUTHORIZING THE INCURRING OF LEASE RENTAL INDEBTEDNESS BY THE GUARANTY OF THE DEBT SERVICE ON A NOTE OF THE GERMAN TOWNSHIP SEWER AUTHORITY IN A PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF THREE HUNDRED SEVENTY-SIX THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED AND 00/100 DOLLARS ($376,500.00); COVENANTING TO PAY, AND PLEDGING UNLIMITED TAXING POWER FOR THE PAYMENT OF THE NOTE UNDER THE GUARANTY; AUTHORIZING FILINGS OF REQUIRED DOCUMENTS WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT; RATIFYING ACTIONS OF OFFICERS AND DIRECTING OTHER ACTIONS; AND MAKING OTHER COVENANTS IN RESPECT OF THE GUARANTY. Connellsville Area SD BOE to Meet Tuesday instead of Monday next week

The Connellsville Area School District Board of Education will hold a work s e s s i o n o n T u e s d a y, September 25, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. and the voting meeting on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. The previously scheduled meeting for Monday, September 24, 2018 has been cancelled.

The meetings are open to the public and will be held in the auditorium at the

Budget Notice

Connellsville to hold Budget Meeting

The Connellsville City Council will hold Budget Meetings on the following
dates: October 2, 2018 at 6:30 PM, October 9, 2018 at 6 PM,
October 23, 2018 at 6 PM and November 1, 2018 at 6 PM. Meetings
will be in City Council Chambers at City Hall, 110 North Arch Street,
Connellsville, PA.

SU Modyfing Disorderly Conduct Ordinance

The citizens of South Union Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania
are hereby notified that an Ordinance repealing South Union
Township Ordinance 1-96, commonly known as the Disorderly Conduct
Ordinance, shall be considered for adoption into law at the regular
meeting of the South Union Township Supervisors being held on
the 3rd day of October, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at the Township Municipal
Building, 151 Township Drive, Uniontown, PA 15401.
The proposed Ordinance repeals is the existing Ordinance 1-96 as
the conduct is prohibited by the Pennsylvania Crimes Code §5503, 18
P.S. §5503.
A copy of the proposed Ordinance may be examined at the Township
Building during normal business hours. Any interested person
is invited to come to the Township Building to examine the proposed
Ordinance.
Interested persons or their agents may appear at the aforementioned
meeting to offer testimony on favor of or in opposition to the
